Spanish, B.A.


Course Requirements


The major requires 38 semester hours, of which 24 must be upper-level. *Six hours are included in the general education core curriculum for the B. A. degree. Students who plan to teach in public schools should consult the School of Education for specific requirements for certification. No student enrolled in the teaching certification program to teach Spanish may place out of SPAN 1401 , SPAN 1402 , SPAN 2301 , or SPAN 2302  using Wayland’s Spanish Placement Exam unless the student receives written permission from a full-time Wayland Spanish professor. All Spanish majors and Spanish teaching certification majors must pass the departmental TExES-LOTE in Spanish before graduating, and before being allowed to take the state TExES-LOTE examination.
