History, B.S.

Course Requirements

The major with a B.A./B.S. requires a minimum of 36 semester hours, of which at least 24 must be upper-level. *Six hours are included in the general education core curriculum. Requirements for secondary teacher certification are different. Please refer to School of Education section for complete requirements.

• HIST 1303 - World Civilization to 1500 3 hrs
• HIST 1304 - World Civilization since 1500 3 hrs
• HIST 2301 - United States History to 1877 3 hrs *
• HIST 2302 - United States History since 1877 3 hrs *
• HIST 3301 - Historical Methods and Philosophy 3 hrs
• Six hours from upper-level U. S. history courses
• Six hours from upper-level non-U.S. history courses
• Nine hours from upper-level history electives courses
