Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)
The School of Business offers also the Master of Business Administration degree. A student may select a specialization in Accounting, General Business, Health Care Administration, Human Resource Management, International Management, Management, Management Information Systems, or Project Management. Completion of the M.B.A. degree requirements prepares the individual for progressively challenging and rewarding careers in business, industry, government, and the health field. The objectives of the M.B.A. program are set out below.
- To provide the theory, principles, and knowledge required for effective management in today’s dynamic environment.
- To develop techniques for basing decision and action on careful analysis of pertinent data.
- To develop a philosophy of responsible leadership and an appreciation of business ethics.
Core Requirements
The M.B.A. program consists of thirty-nine (39) semester hours of core courses and nine semester hours of graduate business courses in the selected area of specialization with the consent of the School of Business Associate Dean; for Graduate Programs. When a course is taken without having the specified prerequisite, equivalent additional hours will be added to the program. Graduate core courses cannot be taken directed study. With proper documentation, up to twelve (12) hours of graduate business course credit may be awarded toward the M.B.A. degree requirements from successful completion and official documentation of Intermediate and/or Senior Education Levels of the Military Services of the United States of America. When an area of specialization is selected, it will consist of a minimum of nine semester hours. (Since all specializations are not offered on all campuses, students should check with graduate advisors for a list of specializations available at particular sites.)
