The M.A. in Spiritual Formation is an advanced degree for persons interested in discipleship and spiritual formation ministries. Coursework will enhance a student’s spiritual growth through extensive study of Christian spiritual disciplines/traditions and strengthen moral integrity for service to God’s mission in the world. Students will 1) develop habits of authentic Christian disciplines for living holistically in today’s world; 2) synthesize a critical and constructive understanding of the biblical and theological foundations of the Christian tradition of formation and discipleship; 3) articulate an understanding of formation and discipleship as it relates to the mission of God in the world; and, 4) demonstrate the character and skills necessary for spiritually guiding individuals and communities in the Christian tradition of formation and discipleship.
Program:
The M.A. in Spiritual Formation is a non-thesis 42-hour program for students with no undergraduate work in Christian Studies. Up to *12 hours of foundations courses may be waived for applicants who have relevant background in Christian studies.

Spiritual Formation Core - 30 hrs
Electives - 12 hrs
Twelve hours of MNST/THST electives
Additional Requirements
M.A. in Spiritual Formation students must take the following courses if they did not take undergraduate courses that cover similar content. Students should take these as part of the 42 hours required in the degree.
