Applied History, Graduate Certificate

This certificate program provides 18 graduate semester hours in history. The program will prepare students to read, analyze, and write about history in a meaningful way. It offers students a unique experience by allowing students to pursue a variety of classes and topics in an online setting.

Students must earn a “B” or higher in all courses.

Course Requirements - 18 hrs

HIST 5301 - Historical Methods 3 hrs
HIST 5302 - Historiography 3 hrs
6 to 9 hours from:
- HIST 5334 - Public History 3 hrs
- HIST 5358 - Oral History 3 hrs
- HIST 5359 - Research Seminar 3 hrs
- HIST 5363 - Applied History Practicum I 3 hrs (Plainview only)
3 to 6 hours from:
- Any graduate-level readings course
- HIST 5359 - Research Seminar 3 hrs (Repeated with a change in topic)
- HIST 5364 - Applied History Practicum II 3 hrs (Plainview only)
HIST 5000 - MAH Certificate Capstone 0 hrs
