The B.A. Humanities + M.A. Humanities degree is a 148-hour accelerated program that combines undergraduate and graduate coursework, reducing time to completion through an integrated, academically rigorous and cost-effective curriculum. This structure avoids duplicated courses and maximizes academic and experiential learning opportunities.

Program Overview
- Full-time students transition from bachelor-level coursework to master-level coursework after completing at least 90 undergraduate credit hours. Time to completion is based on a student beginning with no transfer hours and completing 30-32 credit hours per year.
- A maximum of 12 graduate hours can be shared between the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Graduate courses may also be taken concurrently during the final undergraduate term if needed for financial aid purposes
Graduate Coursework and Requirements
- Shared graduate courses are integrated into the bachelor’s degree plan.
- In their fifth year, students will complete their specialization in English, Christian Studies, Philosophy, or History, as well as HUMA 5301 - Humanities Portfolio .
To remain in good standing for accelerated program, students must:
- Achieve a grade of C or better in all major coursework
- Achieve a grade of B of better in all graduate courses
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

Humanities - 36 hrs
- HUMA 2300 - Survey of the Humanities 3 hrs
- HUMA 5300 - The Humanities and Interdisciplinary Thought 3 hrs (in place of Humanities Elective 3 hrs)
- ART. Elective 3 hrs
- DRMA 3340 - Studies in Drama 3 hrs
- Upper-level film elective from: ENGL 3313 - Film and Literature 3 hrs , ENGL 3330 - Introduction to Film 3 hrs, ENGL 4330 - Studies in Film 3 hrs, or MUSI 3307 - Music in Film and Visual Media 3 hrs
- Upper-level ENGL or Language elective 3 hrs*
- Upper-level PHIL or THST elective 3 hrs*
- Upper-level HIST or POLS elective 3 hrs*
- Upper-level MUSI elective 3 hrs
- Upper-level culture elective from: COMS 3303 - Intercultural Communication 3 hrs , ENGL 3322 - Diverse Americas 3 hrs, GEOG 3305 - Human Geography 3 hrs, PHIL 3333 - World Religions 3 hrs, or SOSC 3320 - Cultural Diversity 3 hrs
- Graduate (5000-level) Humanities elective 3 hrs, not from specialization (in place of Upper-level Humanities elective 3 hrs)
- Graduate (5000-level) Humanities elective 3 hrs, not from specialization (in place of Upper-level Humanities elective 3 hrs)
*Three hours of graduate (5000-level) coursework will come from student’s specialization (ENGL, PHIL/THST, or HIST/POLS).
