|
This certificate program provides 18 graduate credit hours in English. The program prepares students to read, analyze, research, and write about literature in a meaningful way. It offers students a flexible and unique experience by allowing students to pursue a variety of classes and topics in an online setting. It is ideally suited for:
- High school teachers without an MA or who have an MA in a field other than English and want to earn additional graduate hours that may allow them to teach English in the dual credit classroom.
- College instructors who have an MA in a field other than English and want to earn additional graduate hours that may allow them to teach English in the community college classroom.
- Individuals interested in graduate work in English but aren’t ready to commit fully to a graduate program.
Must maintain a 3.0 average among 5000-level ENGL courses.
Successful completion of certificate and approval of school dean warrants a waiver of some of the additional admission standards of MAE, such as letters of recommendation and writing sample.
