Pre-Professional Programs
Students who wish to enter specific professional or graduate schools should write to those schools to receive advice about the courses of study expected of those who would enter. Below are outlines of programs which are somewhat standard.
Most professional programs in medical technology are four to five years in duration including two- to two-and-one-half years of pre-professional course work. Students wishing to pursue medical technology as a career may take their prerequisite course work at Wayland and then transfer into a professional level program in their junior year. Applicants to medical technology programs are required to have approximately 70 semester hours in prescribed sciences and academic foundation courses to be eligible for admission. Courses listed below represent the requirements for entrance into most schools of medical technology. |
