Communication, Minor

Course Requirements

Students pursuing the B.A. or B.S. degree may complete a minor in communication. Requirements for a minor in communication include 18 credit hours, of which 9 must be in upper-level courses. *3 hours are included in the general education core.

• FNAR 1300 - 21st Century Media Arts 3 hrs
• COMS 1301 - Speech Communication 3 hrs * or  COMS 2303 - Public Speaking  3 hrs *
• COMS 1302 - Interpretation and Performance of Literature 3 hrs
• COMS 3310 - Interpersonal Communication 3 hrs

• Six hours from:

  • COMS 3303 - Intercultural Communication  3 hrs
  • COMS 3306 - Argumentation and Debate  3 hrs
  • COMS 4301 - Persuasion  3 hrs
  • COMS 4316 - Topics in Communication Studies  3 hrs
