Course Requirements
Students pursuing the B.A. or B.S. degree may complete a minor in the humanities. Requirements for the minor in the humanities include 21 semester hours, of which two courses must be upper-level courses. Students may need to take additional prerequisites for some courses and should consider that when selecting general electives. Only 6 hours may be dual-counted with the general education core.
- HUMA 2300 - Survey of the Humanities 3 hrs
- Fine Art - 3 hrs: ART 1301 - Art Appreciation 3 hrs ART 1302 - Drawing I 3 hrs, ART 1304 - Painting I 3 hrs, ART 2303 - Design 3 hrs, ART 2306 - Ceramics 3 hrs, ART 2308 - Art History Survey I 3 hrs, ART 2309 - Art History Survey II 3 hrs, or ART 3312 - Watercolor 3 hrs
- Language/Literature - 3 hrs: ENGL 2000-4000, SPAN, GERM, CHIN, LATN, FREN, JAPN, HEBR or GREK
- Social Science - 3 hrs: HIST elective (except 3301 ) 3 hrs, GEOG 1302 - World and Regional Geography 3 hrs, GEOG 3305 - Human Geography 3 hrs, or SOCI 3320 - Cultural Diversity 3 hrs
