The Graduate Certificate in African American Church Leadership broadens student understanding of African American religious experiences through exploration of pastoral care, pastoral leadership, missional actions, and an historical/theological understanding of the Black Church. Certificate program participants will gain skills necessary to engage cultural exegesis; offer pastoral care in African American Church contexts; provide ministry leadership in African American Church contexts; bridge the historical and contemporary Black Church; and develop ministerial strategies for African American church leadership.
